more superbowlin'

it's not alllllll about the food. okay, it is. BUT we did get a little festive with some confetti footballs!

we got the idea from camille styles, but from there just kind threw them together with things we already had. we went with colorful footballs because those are the colors we had and we made our own confetti with old scraps of tissue paper. also, we used craft paint instead of puff paint. super easy (and fun!) craft to make on the cheap!

back to food...ha! here's the food (and drink!) that we didn't get pictures of, but thought we'd go ahead and share the recipes.

in a hurry meatballs
1/2 of a 32oz bag of store bought turkey meatballs
10 oz. grape jelly
10 oz. montgomery inn bbq sauce

Mix all ingredients. Cook on 350 for about 30 minutes.

favorite veggie chili
3 tbs of olive oil
1 yellow onion
1 red pepper
1 green pepper
2 small zucchinis
4 garlic cloves
1 jalapeno pepper
2 tbs of steak seasoning
3 tbs of chili powder
1 tbs cumin
1 tsp coriander
1 tsp red pepper flakes
1 cup beer
1/3 cup bbq sauce
1/2 cup coca-cola
1- 15 oz can of black beans
1- 15 oz can of kidney beans
1- 15 oz can of chick peas
2- 15 oz cans of fire roasted diced tomatoes
1- 15 oz can vegetable stock
1 cup frozen corn

Dice all veggies! Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onions and cook until translucent. Then add peppers and zucchini for about 5 minutes or until they begin to soften. Add garlic and all of the spices - let cook for about 5 minutes. Pour in one cup of beer to deglaze pan. Once the bear stops sizzling, add all remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil and cook for about 5 minutes. Reduce heat to medium low and cook for about 30 minutes. We topped ours with sharp cheddar cheese, sour cream and oyster crackers! Wish we would have remembered avocado!
